    Fiona Foong

    Fiona Foong is a Partner in the Performance and Restructuring practice of PwC Malaysia, bringing over 17 years of experience in restructuring, insolvency, and special situations advisory. She advises lenders, corporates, investors, and government agencies on complex restructuring, recovery, and crisis management matters, with a focus on preserving and maximising stakeholder value in distressed environments.

    Her experience spans some of the region’s most significant insolvency and restructuring engagements, including the liquidation of a public-listed oil and gas group with over 80 subsidiaries and associate companies globally and liabilities exceeding RM5 billion. She has also been involved in one of the largest airline restructuring exercises in the region, supporting both the administration process and the subsequent restructuring efforts during the COVID-19 pandemic. In addition, she has assisted the Malaysian Government on cross-border asset tracing and recovery matters involving misappropriated assets.

    Fiona is a Certified Practicing Accountant, Australia member and a Chartered Accountant of the Malaysian Institute of Accountants. She is the Immediate Past Co-Chair of the Malaysian Network of International Women’s Insolvency & Restructuring Confederation (IWIRC) and a member of Insolvency Practitioners Association of Malaysia (iPAM).

    Jimmy had over 20 years of experience in financial restructuring and insolvency work with KPMG in Malaysia. He led the establishment of the restructuring practice in Jakarta before retiring as a KPMG Singapore & Indonesia partner in 2017.

    His unique blend of financial and operational experience gained during his tenure at KPMG and his background as an accountant add significant value to his current legal work in restructuring, insolvency, and M&A.

    He was a contributing writer for the book, Law and Practice of Corporate Insolvency in Malaysia, published by Sweet & Maxwell in 2019 and co-edited the book Restructuring and Insolvency: A Commentary, published by Sweet & Maxwell in 2023, with a former high court judge. These publications are a testament to his deep understanding and expertise in the field.
